Saturday 17th Nov; Pepper was pleased to see us this morning and we let the dogs out for a run around. After lots of sniffing it was time for breakfast. I didn't have a raw egg so instead, I did what Howard likes and mixed Pepper's dried food with a little fresh turkey and this went down a treat. Then the boys resumed their playing, rolling around the kitchen, hallway and office. When it got too boistrous I separated them to calm them down, then reunited them again. Pepper likes to lay out in the hallway or around the kitchen - rather than on his bed, so he did this this morning too before we headed out back for a wander down the road. I had a quick hoover today and Pepper was fine he didn't seem to notice, but that's probably because Howard is around as a distraction and also Howard doesn't mind the hoover. But I'm sure with all the playing he and Howard have been doing he will sleep well again tonight when he's back home!
Friday 16th Nov; Pepper played a lot with Howard today. I let them out into the garden this morning and there was a lot of play bowing and games of chase around the pergola. After awhile they came inside and we had fun practicing Pepper's tricks and then we got Howard to learn to 'twist' as well! Pepper spent a lot of the day rolling around with Howard, watching what we were doing and then settling down for a quite rest before rolling around again with Howard. So, Justin and I headed for the woods with both dogs and took them for a good walk around the woodland of Long Green in Berkhamsted and through the farmers fields. Pepper met a few local friendly faces - Toffee and Mac the Jack Russells and a Dalmation called TJ. Back home, they played even more! Then by 7 o'clock it was Pepper dinner time and I cooked up the chicken and gave him his dried food and a dash of warm water. He wolved down his food then after a sniff around the garden, laid down to rest. I gave his tablet at 8.45pm and by this time he was well on his way to the land of Nod. To ensure he had a peaceful sleep and no playing I popped Howard into another room and Pepper slept well and didn't stir at all in the night.
