Saturday 3rd Nov; I was later than usual for Rosie as I had other dogs to walk and then got stuck in traffic, so poor Rosie didn't get collected until 5.30pm.  By this time the night had set in and fireworks started!  I took Rosie up to the park by Thomas Coram school so she and I could potter around away from the main fireworks in Berkhamsted but have a good view never the less.  Rosie was as cool as cucumber and didn't let the noises faze her at all.  She had a great time sniffing and we also meet several other dogs out for their walk too.  Back home she was pleased to see Frank and jumped up to see Freddie too.  I refreshed her water and gave her a treat before saying goodbye to Frank and Freddie.

Friday 2nd Nov; I had planned to take Rosie to the castle today for a history lesson but the gates were shut!  So, instead I took her to Ashridge.  We had the entire place to ourselves albeit for some birds.  Rosie sniffed around as as we pottered across the fields in front of us were 4 stags!  They seemed quite young and we saw one headbutt another, so knowing it is rutting season Rosie and I headed off in the other direction!  Back home I refreshed Rosie's water, changed her mat and brought in the shopping for Freddie.

Thursday 1st Nov; I took Rosie to the canal again today.  She watched the ducks swimming around and some school children walking home from school.  She had a great time sniffing the grass verge and took time to really smell certain sections of the canal path!  As she trotted on, she looked here and there and seemed to be really enjoying the scenary.  Back home after her walk she lay down on her bed in the kitchen as I changed her water and mat and chatted to Freddie.

Wednesday 31st Oct; Today Rosie went to Long Green and pottered around the woods.  She saw a couple of other dogs and walked past these with a quick sniff and a couple of cyclists took her interest.  She didn't bark at them and I thought this would good progress as the first couple of times I walked her she would bark at these fast whizzy things!  After a good rumage around the woods it was time to head home, where Rosie had fresh water and I placed a fresh mat down too.

Tuesday 30th Oct; I took Rosie to Sandpit Green today and she had fun sniffing around the fallen leaves along the woodland path.  She then buried herself under several bushes having picked up scents and had a good look to see what was there.  She managed to find several feathers, the last remains of a bird that no doubt had been dinner for a fox, but she dropped them immediately when I asked her to, in favour of a treat.  Back home I refreshed her water and changed her mat for Freddie.

Monday 29th Oct; I missed seeing Rosie on Sunday as she was due to go out with friends for a drama rehearsal.  When I arrived today Freedie said Rosie never went to the rehearsal, so I felt bad as she had missed her walk and trip out.  So I tried to make it up to her today by taking her to the canal for a change of scenary.  Rosie watched the sea gulls hovering above the water and had a good sniff around.  She has calmed down a lot since I have been out with her and twice cyclists whizzed by and she didn't bark or seem too worried.  She saw some passersby and wagged her tail hello to them but they were too deep in conversation to see Rosie trying to say hello. Rosie had a runny tummy today so I told Freedie when we got home.  Back home I changed her mat, refreshed her water and said goodbye to Freddie and Rosie went to lay down.

Saturday 27th Oct; Rosie went to Long Green today and had a great time dashing around and sniffing around the leaves and bushes.  While we were out she met a Jack Russell and they had a good sniff saying hello to one another.  I managed to get Rosie to go to the toliet on request and praised her for doing so.  Back home Rosie sat down and waited for me to take her lead off, before having a drink and then a lay down in the kitchen.  Before I left I gave her tummy a good tickle.

Friday 26th Oct; I took Rosie up to the park by Thomas Moore School today for a change of scenary.  While we were out she met a white bull dog - but was more interested in his frisbee and also a large Dalmation who was very keen to say hello, but Rosie was a little nervous of him as he was very big!  We had a good walk around and Rosie sniffed here and there.  Back home I changed her mat, refreshed her water and gave Freddie's area a hoover around as Rosie had managed to pull out various plants and bits and pieces everywhere over the course of the last week.

Thursday 25th Oct; I took Rosie to Long Green woodland in Berkhamsted today and she had a great tome dashing around sniffing the bushes and trying to pick up sticks.  I practiced some more recall work with her and tested her out with saying 'Rosie toliet' - on the three occasions I said this, she wee'd twice, so I was very impressed and she's proving to be a pretty fast learner!  Back home I had to wipe her paws down as it was muddy and I changed her mat and refreshed her water, before saying goodbye to Freddie.

Wednesday 24th Oct; Having worked with Rosie for six days today I decided to up the antie as it were, and took her to Sandpit Green woodland for a walk and to practice some stop, start, change direction, 'stay' and 'sit' work.  She had great fun sniffing around and was pretty good with her recall and sitting, although 'stay' she couldn't quite work out.  But best of all every time she has been going to the loo outside I have been praising her and saying 'toliet' to her as she goes so she has an association with the action.  Today I said 'Rosie toliet' and she squatted down and did a poo - I was over the moon!  Back home I refreshed her water, changed her mat and said goodbye to Freddie and Frank.

Tuesday 23rd Oct; Today I took Rosie back to the playing fields and spent a lot of time getting her to walk to heel (stop, start, change direction) and practice her recall.  Rosie gets easily distracted but when you get her attention - using food reward, she's very good.  All of this work will support you in the run up and after the consultation as it teaches Rosie to listen to you.  But Rosie tested her heirarchy in the pack when she got home - and promptly wee'd on her mat staring at me as if to say "see, my den, my rules"!  It was quite funny.  I changed her mat and refreshed her water.

Monday 22nd Oct; The lights were out at the house so Freddie asked me to flip the switch.  As I popped my shoes back on having climbed down from the chest Rosie jumped up and licked my face all over!  This afternoon we went out to the playing fields and along the footpath down the alleyway to the other fields along Kings Road.  Not a soul was around bar the gardener for the school grounds who was mowing the grass - Rosie found this very interesting!  After much dashing around and sniffing, it was time to head home, where I brushed out the various leaves she had collected on route and refreshed her water .

Sunday 21st Oct; Rosie met my husband Justin today as he joined us on our walk - as I am builing up trust with Rosie I didn't take her in the car and concerntrated her walk once again around the playing fields.  She ran around like a crazy thing, sniffing the ground and seemed happy to be out and about amongst the fallen leaves.  It was very quiet in the fields today so we had the place to ourselves and Rosie on her extendable lead took advantage of this and ran around in various directions.  Her recalling is getting much better - we have been working on this over the last few days.

Saturday 20th Oct; I took Rosie up to the playing fields and there were only a few people around.  Some lads playing footie and several joggers which made Rosie bark when they whizzed by us.  She had great fun dashing around here and there and when she grew tired she lay down for a quick breather.  Back home I refreshed her water and she went out into the garden to investigate what was happening out there.

Friday 19th Oct; Rosie went up to Shootersway and we decided to turn down a pathway that took us down a very very long alleyway into Berkhamsted!  We passed a school and all the children loved Rosie.  She even got a beep from a passing car and a wave for being so cute.  Rosie had a good sniff around in the fallen leaves and her tail was held high and proud as she was thoroughly enjoying herself.  Back home I refreshed her water which she had a good drink from, then she lay down as Freddie and I had a chat.

Thursday 18th Oct; Rosie sniffed around me when I arrived and barked a couple of times.  Then I popped on her lead and we were off!  I decided to walk her down the road to the playing fields today, rather than pop her straight into the car on day one, just so she could get used to the idea of me walking her.  Rosie was very happy to be out and about and sniffed around in the bushes and snorted the fallen leaves around her.  At one point Rosie actually had a leaf stuff to her nose!  We went to the playing fields and I extended her lead so she could stretch her legs more - Rosie dashed around and we practiced her recall, for which she was rewarded treats.  By the time we headed back I think Rosie was tired as she had a drink of water then lay down in the kitchen!
